Initially tutoring for other companies, Joe and Arlo founded Abacus as they noticed a growing tendency in the classroom, and among other tutoring providers, to overcomplicate learning and skim over foundational skills that apply equally across different topic areas and subjects. With this in mind, we crafted our ‘Fundamental Mastery’ philosophy, focusing on incremental, quantitative improvement. In doing this, we focus on confidence and proficiency in the key topics, rather than mere competency, building upon this platform the skills that guarantee success.
